The VZ58 is the orginal military version the CZ858 is the legal Canadian version.
Not quite. The CZ 858 is a designation given to one of the several Canadian legal VZ 58 variants available.

if you get the non-restricted version 858 it is more accurate then a sks because of the longer barrel. If your looking for a gun that's fun too shoot, reliable, easy to maintain, has lots of aftermarket accessories you can't go wrong with the cz 858 or even a good sks.
That's not common though. Yours is the exception.I have cz858 but I actually like the trigger on sks better. sks has lighter trigger pull and shorter travel.
Umm... the SKS has a 20" barrel and the 858 19".
Does somebody carry spare trigger parts for these rifles?
Looks like some experimenting is in order for a match trigger design. I think there would be an interest in it with the amount of rifles and mods everyone does to them for CQB.
^ Or he can do whatever he wants....
I believe trigger work could greater improve its performance in CQB. It's reset is way to long.
Speed. Shorter reset=faster. Why else would Giessele create those triggers for 3 gun? Acceptable accuracy acheived through a trigger that breaks clean, it is less likely to throw shots off. Especially under stress of time.
Stock triggers easy for who? Everyone? With enough practice yes, an improved trigger allows that to happen with less practice.
True, to a point. It boils down to practice, I believe less practice with a better trigger will have the same result as more practice with a stock one. But this all depends on the variables, how good is the stock trigger? How much less practice does one need with an improved trigger? To be honest I don't know, I've only ever taught the fundamentals to a few. I do believe that one should start with a stock trigger until a level of proficiency is gained.
Another thought. If one is very used to one type of trigger in a rifle. Spending their adult life running it at work and in play, they will very likely have trouble running a very different trigger. Or at least in my experience. I make the comparison between stock AR and the CZ. I can shoot the CZ well at a slow and medium rate but falter at competition speeds. I've shot it quite a bit and feel that some improvements to it would help me a great deal. As we all fall back to what we know under the stress of competition, etc.
