GSG Ammo

Another vote for Stingers
I just took my new GSG to the range for the first time today. 150 rounds of CCI Stinger and zero failures. I'm told once you break it in with the stingers it will cycle cheaper ammo, but I have not tried anything else in it yet.
 
After breaking in my Sig 1911-22 with HV CCI's...it's seen a steady diet of Win555's with very good results. I've had a few duds and one mag(of 3) doesn't feed the first round once in a while.
 
Blazer Brass for mine. I love Blazer Brass, it has never caused me any grief in any number of different .22 rifles and handguns.

Tried some Velocitor and it was hot and it was fun but about 1 in 15 rounds was a failure to feed with the round going nose up
 
Hmm...I haven't experienced any problematic lead buildup. I've gone through over a brick a day at the range without issue. Yes there's lead in there, but not enough to affect the accuracy, and certainly not enough to prevent a bore snake from getting through. I wonder if something else may be at play here...

Can you define 'keyholing' for me please?

I was running Federal bulk with relatively no issues.
I did some mods to the gun. ie: a custom longer guide rod and a barrel bushing that fits the barrel.
The federal stuff doesn't run so well now; but Blasers seem to run like a champ.

I am also no longer running the take down screw in my GSG. Don't know if that has anything to do with the Federal stuff not working so well anymore.

I'll stick with the CCI Blaser stuff as it is cheap enough and operates the gun
CCI stingers work great as well; but the price differential makes them prohibitive IMHO.

Federal never really worked well in my GSG. I did notice however that the torque of the take down screw has had an effect. I run mine quite tight. I'm not sure as to poundage, but I tighten it to a strong finger tight. (No grunting)
