This is my general purpose hunting kit. Its fairly light and rides on my hips well. I think i have most of my bases covered. Its not %100 complete. I ad a few things the day before i go hunting.
I ad snacks like dehydrated fruit bars, werthers, jerky, and a couple apples. I also ad a 1 liter stainless water bottle.
Most of my hunting is done in mixed farmland in large poplar bluffs a long ways from other people (preferably). I also carry a few things oon my person like tp, a good folder, ammo, rifle, binos and warm weather gear.

What does your kit look like. Mine changes alot depending on which season it is and what i'm hunting.

Toilet paper, munchies, water, a bit more 550 cord and some seasonal clothing (eg rain jacket if it's cloudy). Very often a small camouflage sheet rolled up to help make a blind or cover my legs. I have a pencil-size diamond-coated sharpening steel which has come in handy. A Red Bull shot in an inside pocket.

Compass looks to be attached to the bag in the OP's picture.

My kit includes: Survival blanket, 550 cord, poncho, knife, flashlight, OSM bars, first aid kit, lighter, fire starter, water purification tabs, some marking tape and a couple chem lights.

Here's my "hunting pack".:) I found this in either Wobble Mart or Canada Tire, can't recall which. It was only about $15 or so. I don't intend to use it for any ten day hikes in the mountains!! There are more pockets and hooks and doo-dads than you can shake a stick at. Great pack to take into the bush, hang it on a tree and stand a reasonable chance of finding it again.:p

Seriously, all I take is a fanny pack with a$$wipe, some ammo, maybe a bottle of water - maybe, some matches, a couple of knives, and one of those bone cutter knives. Also sometimes put in a chocolate bar or an orange or apple. I am always within 15 miles of town, so cell coverage is always good.

I loved the pack at first sight. Nice blaze orange to scare all the deer within 20 miles, but easy for me to find.

Here's mine, I can offer a list of what's inside if anybody cares. Yes, it's heavy, yes I've hiked with it. And yes, that's 2 axes and 5 knives. I gave one of the mora companions to my father so you can ignore one of those. The Esee-3mil and mora are now located inside the pack.

Maxpedition Falcon II. Probably the best pack I've ever owned.

I've EDC'ing it to work for the past couple years. I was looking for something a bit smaller for that and found this:

How about a pack where survival is a distinct possibility?
That's a 30-30 in the buckskin sheath sticking up from the pack.
Basic survival items are in the pack, including a tea pail/porridge cooking pot and babiche to repair our snowshoes, if needed.
The axe is carried in the hand for convenience, including knocking the snow from some of the worst snow laden brush.

Damn - you're dating me again! I wonder how many people here would know what that is, let alone what to do with it?

Are those Cree SS? Haven't seen a pair like that in years.
