I was driving up the road this afternoon and saw the wardens had someone stopped. I pulled up behind them and got out my license. The one warden comes walking to my truck with half a case of beer in his hand. He says you can carry on, we're going to be busy for a while. Drove by 4 clowns with the dumb look on their faces.

Some people never learn. Reminds me of the time I was driving in rural Ontario & a truckload of yahoo's were tail-gating me. I could see each of them were hoisting cans of the good stuff. Turns out there was a Ride Check around the next bend in the road, lol. The office leaned into my window & asked if I had had anything to drink at all? Just water I said, but the yahoo's behind me were. Don't worry about them he said with a grin, we will take care of them. Half a mile down the road I passed an oncoming jeep filled with guy's drinking open beers. Must have been a busy time for the OPP that day.

I have tagged out with a bow for the past 2 years and this was my first rifle hunt in a while. I totally understand why so many farmers hate hunters. I saw 3 big lifted dodge diesel 4x4's, all had their Metal Mulisia stickers all over the windows tearing up one guys alfalfa field. I tried to get plate #'s but they were covered in snow. What a bunch of dickheads...Bunch of 20 year old rig pigs with guns and attitudes...So much fail.

Could you not just call a cop when you see some thing like this? FS

Drinking wobbly-pops and hunting / fishing and driving is a bad mix, no matter how one looks at it. Unfortunately there are people who test the waters, and don't seem to realize that their uncertainty is being spread over everyone else who happens to be in the same vicinity as they are. Over the years I've seen a few people end up in some uncompromising situations. I found two people (in different locations) passed out with empty bottles and loaded guns beside them. And someone in a complete blaze orange suit up in a tree stand passed out. Initially I figured it was a health matter, until I seen and smelled the booze. In these instances I told these individuals to leave the bush as they were creating danger to others.

I doubt it would do any good. As farmers have mentioned on other posts regarding this topic they dont do anything. Im sure it would take them 3 hours to get out and I doubt they would even attempt the back roads after we had 30 cm of snow.

BC has laid off most of the CO's. Cost cutting measures. These guys are stretched real thin. The booze comes out when the guns are put away, simple rule it would seem. As they say common sense is not all that common.

In the Rainy River district when the Deer hunting is in high gear they get CO's from all over to come in a patrol because there were so many people shooting off roads and into private land. I know of at least one guy from here that got caught and got his rifle seized.

the CO's were out tonight and pulled me over in rural northeast Sask. The CO's truck came out of the dark, and they clearly stated that they were following us with their lights off. Of course everything was in order, but SGI website states that it is illegal to drive without headlights on from one half hour after sunset to one half hour before sunrise. Since when is it OK to break the law in order to check/attempt to catch someone else breaking the law. Right after these same fellows took off down the road, again with the lights off.

As it comes to the drinking and driving/hunting/shooting, the booze should come out after the gun is put away.

We were checked for the first time in more than a decade with the CO being quick and professional. My wife had already tagged out and he checked her deer and our licenses and sent us on our way. As an aside the morning had been incredibly foggy so we stayed out of the fields till visibility improved yet we saw a 4x4 truck racing across a field, unfortunately were unable to get a good description , we mentioned this to the CO who said he had received a couple of calls about the truck but no plate #.
