Looking to upgrade the trigger on my M&P 9mm since I'm starting to get more comfortable with it and shooting better with it, so figured why not improve the gun to also (hopefully) improve my shooting with it.

So far I have heard of the apex trigger kit, are there others out there that may be just as good, or better, or is there something a good gunsmith can do without buying a "kit"

What have you guys used and how do you like/dislike the end result?

Thanks, got a few bucks in my "change jar/gun fund" and want to put it to good use LOL

The thing about the Apex DC or Comp kit is that the sear is actually better quality (harder) and a better design than the original S&W sear, and the firing pin safety is included. There are smiths in the US who do trigger work on M&P's and there's an online pictorial of what to do, but for a 100% reliable trigger at a decent price, Apex is the way to go. Installation is very simple, and takes about 10 minutes the first time you do it, if you have no mechanical aptitude, and no tools. The parts are available through Brownells or Dillon. The Apex trigger doesn't change over time, and mine shows barely any wear on the sear despite having put more than 20,000 rounds through it since the change.

Apex trigger kits are great. No need to find anything else, just have to decide how far you want to go with the upgrades. I have the ultimate striker block and hard sear in mine. It creates a very smooth light and crisp trigger. I'm just an average shooter and I noticed a difference in my groups.

Did you not install the trigger I sent you? The USB and HS were an improvment, but I found that the replacement trigger was a big step forward as well.

Whoops, forget to mention that in my post. Yes it's installed. I put them all in at once so not sure which made the most improvement. The AEK sure is nice though. I find myself dry firing a lot more now just to feel how nice it is.

Okay thanks guys, so just the APEX full setup and I'm golden right, cool! I see the full kit is $160 in the U.S., is there a Canadian dealer that also sells it?

Google Burwell triger job.

If you can't find it send me a PM.

I have 5 M&Ps. Only one I bothered to spend the $$ for the Apex kit. I did the Burwell TJ on the rest. IMHO if you do it properly, it is superior to the Apex! But you NEED to know what you are doing! Don't try the Burwell if you are not very familiar with firearms and don't have some idea of what you are doing in there!

My M&P9 has 20K through it. I did the Burwell TJ on it before it hit 4K. All parts are still original......

Cheers!
