Getting into hunting and I was wondering what is a good hunting shotgun. I'm interested in hunting turkeys and various waterfowl. I'm left eye dominant if that matters and I willing to spend around 1,000$

Thanks in advance

I'm a lefty and looking seriously at the Browning BPS pump. It bottom ejects and is generally well liked. When finances allow I'll be considering the Upland Special.

I would try my best to shoulder the BPS upland special prior to buying one. It is not a gun I would select for waterfowl. I'm a lefty also due to my eye dom but shoot all right handed guns for years with never an issue. The bps hunter maybe a more universal fit.

I was just thinking as he is left eye dominate a semi might be the ticket. Being partially blind in my right eye I use a semi an 870 pump with scope but I am thinking maybe a semi would be the ticket for me anyway.

Get a gun on which you can adjust the cast of the stock to accommodate a left handed (left eye dominant) shooter.

Falling in this category are: Browning Maxus, Winchester SX3, Beretta 391 and 400.

Some semis are also made in Left Hand versions. The 11-87 comes to mind. Also find out if the safety can be reversed on which model, or look for one with the safety under the thumb.

I'm also a lefty and shoot an xtrema2 honestly the only guns I would ever buy in lefty form would be a bolt action or a bulpup... semi auto shotguns are fine for us.not to mention the cheaper guns are usually sold with non adjustable neutral cast stocks anyways
