6 mm br Thoughts

Right now I have a 6 BR Rem. and it shoots great. I want to get a new build done and I was thinking of a
6 mm Norma. My question, is there pros or cons is one more accurate, faster etc. than the other.

What are the specs of a 6mm BR compared to a 6mm Norma?

I think the majority of 'modern' 6mm BR chambers are basically the same now... Lapua brass is maybe a thou larger at the rear of the case and most guys chamber for that brass... no neck turn Lapua brass rules as far as I am concerned. No one uses American made brass...?
 
There is really no practical difference. When Norma loaded the longer-than-68 grain, 108 grain bullets, the CIP made them designate the "new" 6mmBR Norma cardridge. It has a longer leade than the 6mmBR Remington. As guntech mentioned, there are some variations with brass.

I recall The difference was a cese length of 1.555 vs. 1.550. Both Lapua and Norma make their brass to the Norma specs, but most dies are labeled for the BRRem... go figure
 
I have reamers for both and the norma version has a longer neck and a bit bigger a few thous here and there on the body , the headspacing is the same with both .
If you chamber using a 6br rem your lapua and norma brass will be very tight and some times will not fit , using a 6 br norma would be better imo.
The 6br rem is the old and first version , the neck is about 50 thou shorter .

My new reamer marked 6mm BR (2005) is ground for the longer brass (1.555") which I think is now the standard for the 6mm BR's being built today. I don't know anyone chambering for the shorter necked brass. I thought that went out 15 years ago or longer.

I agree that most new builds are being done on the longer neck version , however there are still some older reamers kicking around and sometimes they do get used.
Last spring I upgraded my last 6br reamer to a no turn neck [.269]for the new blue box lapua brass seems like there is no end to it lol.
