Hey All! I'm looking to purchase a niffty assault-style rifle that I can afford to shoot a ton of! I was just wondering if anyone has any input on to which one would be more accurate. I have lot's of experience with 10/22's and currently own an SR-22 that shoots great groupings, but for around the same price is the ISSC Scar. Does anyone have some advice on to the pro's and con's of purchasing the Scar versus dropping a 10/22 into a nomad(g36) stock? Cheers!

If you have a SR-22 why would you want an ISSC? Go with the Nomad 10/22 combo.
If you do a search you'll find that the ISSC's pretty much were a total bomb due to all kinds of problems.

Totally. I'd stick with the SR-22. LOL I can't believe I said that. If you spent all that money on the SR-22, just add to it. Atleast you know it can shoot.
The only other options I'd suggest is the 715T and SU-22. Both have 25-26 round mags.
Just my 2 cents. I really like the ambi controls of the ISSC but it comes with the price of maybe not being as reliable as your ruger.
If the M&P 15/22 was not 10 rounds and restriceted I'd bet there would be alot of people switching over there .22s for it!

I do not care what anyone says but for a 22LR semi auto I will always pick the 10/22 all the way to the bank. Sorry if others do not agree with me.
That being said I would also look into the SU-22 by Kelt Tec and get the Pistol Grip Stock provided it fit's the SU-22. I have not personally shot this 22LR rifle but own it's bigger brother the SU-16 and it is a dream to shoot.

I own both .. I like the adventure in the MK-22 .. I like the way it breaks down for cleaning ( if you buy the $6.00 H&K pins) I like the way it shoots and it is accurate as my 10/22 Td
Now the 10/22 can be modified to death to aid in accuracy where the MK does not have that kind of support at this time
Consider what you will be shooting .. Stingers , velocitor, CCI mini mags, federal blue and consider the mags .. The poly mags of the MK can be a pain with out some care, and any after market Ruger non 10 round mag can be an equal pain and require the same watching .. Even the TI ones ( keep in mind that the Ruger 25 round mag is prohibited in Canada, you can sometimes buy them, but do you want a prohibited mag in your kit. It is silly but it is prohibited.
I do not want to run hyper rounds through my equipment on a large scale and usually stick with federal blue for the MK and the 10/22 has eaten all I have offered it ( point for the Ruger )
My Grandfather could have owned a rifle in the style of the Ruger ( point for the MK )

I purchased a MK-22 a few weeks ago which was manufactured June 12 and have been impressed with the accuracy, fit and finished and looks. The trigger is very light and smooth, all the screws are tight. I have shot 5 different types of ammo without a hitch (20 rounds in the mag). ISSC must have re-structured they're Quality Control with all the bad reviews they received on the Net. Lets hope they continue to improve on this product
I believe since ruger makes and exports the charger pistol to Canada and advertises the mags to be used in said pistol they are prohibited beyond 10 rounds. Promag and butler creek mags are for the rifle only and thus not limited.
As I stated the " Ruger " factory 25 round mag is a prohibited mag in Canada". Called BX-25 .... Maybe it could be pinned to 10 rounds , but not really for sale in Canada. Think it fits the Ruger Charger ( stated in Dyspnea's post ) .. I would presume that Ruger felt advertising it for both pistol and rifle would get them more sales in the US ...
The TI-25 I mentioned in my post is very similar to the BX-25 .. Never held a BX-25 so I am going on 2nd hand knowledge ..

I have an SR22 and am planning on getting the MK22 as well. From what I have read, all the kinks are worked out and they are good to go. I got no problem dropping coin on it, Look at if for gods sakes... it's beatiful.

I own a ISSC and mine runs absolutely flawlessly... That being said, I have heard horror stories. I believe all the kinks are worked out now so I say get the ISSC. Amazing Platform.
Here's another 2 cents:
I had an SR-22, and while LCF and function was excellent, its heavy weight made it feel like some sort of highly tuned staple gun in operation. It was a weird feeling rifle in operation, with absolutely zero recoil and zero muzzle rise. I sold it, and am now building a light and short 10/22 in a light pistol grip stock. I am hoping this will give me a little better training effect for reacquiring targets, and make it much more suitable for packing around in the woods.
