You can't go wrong with the CMMG kit. I've got one and can't remember ever having any problems with it. The stainless version ones are so easy to clean, just a wipe down and you're good to go.
Why not buy a .22 upper
Why not buy a .22 upper
How is the accuracy of the cmmg upper?i had a spikes stainless .22 conversion and the accuracy was so bad. only good for pinking within say 25 metres. it was like water coming out of a garden hose.
i have a cmmg dedicated upper now...its okay except for the fact i had to do a little work on it to get it to cycle reliably. there is this WASP coating cmmg like to put on their stuff. had to strip that crap off to get it to run well.
Just get a dedicated... There pretty much the same price as an upper or convershion. Plus you get another gun!

The .22LR conversion bolt in my 1:7 twist barrel is like the rifle is throwing the bullets at the target with its wrong hand.![]()
Where are you finding these uppers? The only .22 dedicated upper I can find is a $550 CMMG from Questar, and conversions I found are $220-$250.
too bad its polymer...but for 449 you can't complain i guess.
^guess i'm just old school =)
