can you also get the SIG516 CQB 10" SBR?

What exactly about these rifles warrants a $3000 price tag?
Obviously if one has to Explain, you certainly will Not understand.
The gun is imported from Europe where they use a monetary thing called the Euro ...
So, if you want one like the big boys use then you can expect to pay the price or you can buy a copy of the same gun the bog boys use for far less money.

Assuming that because this has a hand grip it is going to be restricted?

It will be restricted, but not because it has a "hand grip."

It will be restricted because it's an AR-15 variant, all of which are restricted by name. Having a pistol grip does not make a rifle restricted, some examples being the CZ 858 and the Swiss Arms Black Special/Classic Green. Both of these rifles have pistol grips but are non-restricted as they are not named as restricted or prohibited and have a barrel length over 18.5 inches as required for a semi-automatic centerfire rifle to be non-restricted.

Welcome to Canadian gun laws, enjoy the ride!

hmmm lets see if they are 1500.00$ in the states go down there pick on up apply for the export permit, pay taxes, brokerages duty, and then on top of that having to have it verified and registries and that if they don't seize it at the border
if buying a gun fro the us was so easy and cheap don't you think we would all do it ?

I agree ... and I agree with others.

To all everyone else ...

If you don't like it, too bad. Go down South and get yourself one from across the border. Once you have jumped through all the hoops and red tape ... come back here and tell us all about it and how much money you saved for the time and effort and cost for you to have an American made rifle and not a German manufactured one.

;)

German made (anything) 10X better then cheap chinease or american made stuff for example H & K (Anything)
BMW/mercedes/Audi all Bosch equipment and little known secret most do not know the injectors in your vehicle were made by Robert Bosch (also German) it may say GM/Ford?Crysler but it was all engi. from Robert Bosh and once again German = Better
MG - 42 (German) USA copied and used the action to try to duplicate it's massive cycle rate and incorporate it into the M-60 which had nothing more then tons of problems because they could not make it function anythin near the same as the German made MG -42 and the list grows and grows
In the end buy what you want and where you want.

I'm not up on the AR style world. You explained, and I did understood. I would have given you a 'thanks' if you didn't come off as a condescending snot.

What exactly is the difference between a German making the gun vs an American making the gun?

Could be that the German worker gets paid more an hour for their work, takes pride and enjoys their job more and has less economic woes to worry about than an American Sig worker. Or maybe not.

I fail to see how complaining about the price of his item is helpful to this retailer. Too expensive?.....then don't buy one. In terms of percentage of income of what this item costs it maybe very affordable for a lot of premium gun buyers. I agree for many people making 50 to 60k a year this may seem like a lot of money, but there are people in the firearms community that make many times that. I for one am glad that there are retailers who go out of their way to bring in hard to find premium products. Order placed and thank you.

It is QUITE easy actually. The reason why people don't do it, is because (like yourself) they're afraid of doing a bit of work themselves. $100 + 5% of the guns value can get you anything you want (within Canadian law) imported into the country.

...and no, customs isn't going to seize a gun that's being lawfully imported through the proper channels... Educate yourself before making ridiculous statements please.

I thought the minimum fee for the US broker to import any firearm to Canada was $500?

Remember that we are talking about two different rifles, one is made in the US and one in Germany. They will each cost us a different price. Our retail price is determined by our cost.

The issue is not about supply and demand, what the market will support or as some would say "How much can we gouge our customers" Our retail price is simply determined by our cost. If we are not competitive then we are forced to walk away from that product, time will tell if I have made a good buissness decision with this order.
