mixed stamp heads for pistol shooting

Hi just wondering if spending hours a month sorting out brass is worth it?
Realizing it’s good practice to sort out brass from same company, but when home from the range and there are several hundred rounds to sort calibers & stamp heads, For my rifes yes as I use same shells for hunting and range but once I’ve found a really good match for the rifle I stick with it and leave alone, with the handguns I experiment more but shoot a lot more as it is a winter hoddy and shoot once a week but go for the day.
Curious if you fellas all sort brass or just shoot mixed brass in your handguns?

not for handguns, to much work! clean and reload!

i do however sort primer size for 45acp, i just fill up a tray of 50 then look them over. it took me about 20 minutes to look over 800 brass.

Mixed brass in all my pistols.

I did some testing on group size with sorted brass, but I didn't see a difference. Not saying it didn't make a difference, but if it did I wasn't able to measure it with a set of can tire callipers....... Now if I had a ransom rest, results would maybe be noticeable. Certainly not enough to bother sorting my brass!

I do, but it is more because of OCD than being anal about it. I like to sort only to keep knowledge of how many times stuff has been reloaded.
Is it necessary? Probably not since I load every single 40 S&W with the exact same load, regardless of headstamp.

It is a personal choice.

I have never sorted my brass and I cant tell any difference in loads

+1. None of my handgun loads are near the edge, pressure-wise, and I am far less accurate than the guns are, so I don't bother with sorting at all.

All my handgun handloads are with mixed brass. I don't think your gun will know the difference.

unless you are in the nra 2600 club you will never notice a difference - load em and shoot

Rifle reloading with mixed brass can yield different results.. From my personal experience. Pistol... I just mix and shoot.

I do, but it's a combination of my OCD and a need to keep a pair of 11 year old boys occupied on a crappy winter day. Nintendo DS is apparently good training.

it only shows a diff @ 50yds . out of a ransom rest , very similar groups but diff po impact , with diff brass , & larger groups with mixed .

I bet you all sort it....by caliber.
I tend to keep some in lots when I buy it new but most is mixed.

I tend to only pull S&B brass out of the mix for wheel guns.
