Attaching/adapting AK underfolder stock to CZ-858 - How would I go about it?

I noticed a member or two on here have AK-47 underfolder stocks on their vz/cz's ....

Was wondering the following:
A) adapters - how do I go about it? Is it a one-off custom machined adapter, or is it something you can buy? Cost?
B) Where do I source an inexpensive Ak underfolder stock? (or does an inexpensive one not exist?)

If someone could help me out, that would be appreciated. I think I did contact a member once about his setup, but I forgot what he told me (and the PM is long deleted, now...)

Thank you in advance!

PS if anyone is asking why I'd want to do it: I need a wider shoulder/butt pad area, but I still like the East Bloc metal style folding stocks!

I agree with you 100%. If I could get same info I would even buy 858. As it looks right now it is silly almost childish firearm design.
I like rifle because she is accurate and simple. Has gremlin but nothing serious. I would love to see her with proper wood grips installed, under-fold stock, and cleaning rod under the barrel.

Trust me when i say this. It is the most uncomfertable for this rifle. I had one and sold it as quick as I got it. Cheek weld sucks and it cant fold unless mag is taken out of it.
This may not change your mind but it isnt practical for the CZ

I think the CZ original stuff is beautiful. Plus there are other folder options that work great. I highly recommend the Polymer folder from the Czeck Republic. Increased LOP by 1.5 inches and awesome cheek weld.

The underfolder stock is just plain ###y!!

Now there are underfolder stocks spesific to the 858. Here is a thread that Bfiles started:

There are some good comments about the stock itself and its construction.

Now Bfiles makes a good comment on the comfort/cheek weld, but there may be a solution, made by one of my favorite companies, Samson Mfg.

This is borrowed from the tacti-cool 858 picture thread, and I think it gives a good explanation:

Originally posted in Red rifles as new post, moved it here due to interest.

Picked up a new CSA and wanted to set it up to be lighter and more compact than my CZ858 which turned out fairly heavy. One of the options I looked at was changing out the metal folder for a variety of other folders and the ones I liked were all in the $300.00 or better ball park. Given what i put into my CZ858 I want to keep costs down where I could for this carbine.

So I considered what I liked, and did not like about the standard folder and did some searching online and came up with a UTG model 47 butt pad, which gives you that extra inch or so of reach. Fits tight and I have not had any issues with it coming off.

Then I wanted a better check weld so I found a riser for an AK47 under folder which looked like it would be a close dimensional match. I really liked the look of the cheek rest/Riser made by Samson. The AK47 under folder stock was very slightly wider than the VZ58 folder so I used a spacer to take up the difference for a secure grip on the folder. You have to make sure you move the riser back far enough that the charging handle does not hit on the riser if you ever think you might fire it with the stock folded. After that it feels good and is height adjustable.

Spent about $70.00 to make the folder fit the way I wanted. the standard folder has some very good points and these items complete the functional package IMHO. Anyway had not seen this setup for the VZ58 folder and thought I pass on the info for those who might be interested.

Heres what it looked like on the AK47 under folder.

I am not sure about the clearances for the cheek plate and such, however I do think its food for thought no??

Your welcome..........

One of my talents is pulling info from various sources for different facets of a single project.

As for the NR rating......while nice, its not the end all be all, especially if one starts to shoot competitively

Further, I am VERY happy, that we are able to have these Vz-58 derivative guns (restricted or otherwise).

True, its not an AK, but for what its worth.............

I understand from those that know, the 858 (in the 7.62x39 form) is either equal to, or better than the AK platform.

Further, there are at least two Canadian companies that come to mind that were or are manufactiring accesories and supporting the platform.

Life is indeed good!!

Just my thoughts

It may look pure ###y but this stock was made and developed for the AK. The AK and CZ have different clearences between their uppers. Once I put this stock on it, it made it difficult from the lack of angle from the underfolder and makes the rifle point un-naturally. Ths is after I used it at the range.
The link above was just when I got it and didnt have anytime to use it then. Plus they are kinda expensive, best bet over the price of it is take a look at the CZ galil stock. Muchbetter stock platform
