I don't know if this will interest anyone but I thought I'd put up some pictures of my new sr1911. It has a Wilson combat magwell, full length guide rod, 15 lb recoil spring, stainless grip screws, and some Kimber fluted grips.

Looks great! Mine gets here tuesday, already have a pile of things to throw on it. Doing a magwell also but in blued. Looks rad man.

Looks good! Is 15lb recoil spring on the light side?

The Ruger comes with a pretty heavy recoil spring, its supposed to be either 18.5 or 20 lbs which is probably fine for +P loads but may cause malfunctions with lighter target loads.I put a 16lb ISMI spring in and it works fine with all the loads I tried(and 16 is the original spec for the 1911).Some guys go even lower,12 or 14,but use a shockbuff with this.

Nice touches - looks great. I run a 16lbs recoil and 19lbs mainspring. I also swapped the sights on mine for a serrated blacked out rear (Heinie) and a single trijicon dot up front and put on the Wilson front strap checkering.

Yeah, the stock recoil spring was super heavy. Can cause malfunctions and increase recoil when the slide slams back into battery. I like the idea of the front strap checkering. I may have to add that. This is the first time I've used an extended magwell and it is pure luxury. I love it.
