Hi Guys,

I bought a nice little compact in 7mm-08 and haven't been hunting with it due to the weight of the laminate stock (and I don't want to ding it!). I've been looking at getting an aftermarket stock for it and can't find one. If anyone knows of a manufacturer who makes them please let me know!

Thanks,

Alex

My Ruger Frontier 358 came with a laminate stock that was way too short so I picked up a Ruger synthetic stock for a short action Hawkeye and it was a drop in fit. Length of pull was a bit longer making it perfect for me.
Prior to that I had priced a McMillan stock and it was nearly the cost of the rifle....

Short action is one thing but I have the compact model (6 1/2" bbl). A regular stock would make the rifle look disproportionate.

Yep - just like this.

Really?

Look at MPI's Mountain Rifle style.
There was never officially a M77 MI. I believe MPI is referring to the original M77 ( a tang safety, push-feed ) VS the later M77 MII ( with the three position wing safety & CRF ). A new 'improved' trigger and different metal finishes were the main/only changes to the M77 MII barrelled action when the new HE models were introduced. ( the ergos on the new factory stock were much improved also, IMO ) As far as restocking goes the two newer models are interchangeable...
