I have a older cooey model 64 and im looking for an extractor its held on the bolt by a small screw andbroke when i cleaned it last i can find no serial number on this gun anywhere so im not sure of the mfg date
 
WGP told me that they have NOTHING left for cooey(I needed an extractor for my model 82, which is different obviously than a 64).
 
Also how can i tell if its a 64 64 a or b or deluxe ive looked all over no serial would the barrel stamp say 64a etc. Mine just says 64?????? Im guessing late 60s anyone else cme accros one with no numbers?? Thx........
 
Call savage arms during business hours and get the part from them. Also order a couple magazines(they're cheap), a firing pin, and a ejector.

This applies if it takes a metal magazine. If it's a plastic magazine report back for potentially different instructions. Will need to double check some things.

Not necessarily. The 64A used an extractor that was formed from spring steel and held in the bolt by a small screw on the underside, not sure if the late model 64 with the plastic mag did as well. Ejectors can be the wire type or the stamped blade type.
I'll take a look in that "infamous" hat I have...eh Looky!
 
Don't get hung up on naming it. They were made with many different brand & names on them, all of them aside from the plastic mag version is the same. Mine is a Sears.
Ejectors aren't mass produced by any company, but I have contact info for a guy who makes them if you ever need one.
Extractor should be the same on all of them, so you can still call up savage arms to get one.

You can get parts to convert them to the common metal magazines used now. I tried it and it's not a totally 'drop in' type job for the one I had. Feed ramp is different.

I doubt Savage is using the early style extractor, or for that matter the wire ejector.
Bolt on left has the newer style of extractor. Bolt on right has the screw inside with the extractor to the right of it. Marked difference in style between the two.

Ok it didnt have a mag when i got the gun but a buddy found one its metal and was working so u say savage extrectors r the same i took a look at blwn up parts pics of savage 64 but extractor looked different to me mine is held in witha small screw
