As per my knowledge, Russian Simonov SKS 1945 collection, should have at least 17 pieces.

Let's see how many SKS 1945 you'd need for a normal collection.

1952 TULA
1953 IZHEVSK
1953 TULA
1954 IZHEVSK
1954 TULA
1955 TULA (Hard wood stock)
1955 TULA (Laminated stock)
"D" Serie by TULA (Hard wood stock) Star on left side of the receiver
"D" Serie by TULA (Laminated stock) Star on left side of the receiver
"I" Serie by TULA (Hard wood stock) Star on left side of the receiver
"I" Serie by TULA (Laminated stock) Star on left side of the receiver

This looks suspiciously like a shopping list!

1952 was a transitional year, and there are quite a few combinations, 45 or curved gas block, early or late trigger group, early or late rear sight base, bayonet lugs with and without recesses, etc.

Guess that depends on if you're a Lumper or a Splitter. :) betting that list could be expanded by quite a few minor variations.

I feel like you're the best resource to ask on this forum, but are all post-52 SKS's chrome lined? I read that they were on an American gun forum and I didn't really believe it, but hey the more you know right? Just figured I'd ask.
