I got 1953 Tula sks from tradeex with a case of Chinese ammo it got here Monday and it seems to be a non refurb and possibly a un issued rifle since it's in perfect condition and all matching except for a few parts that are electro penciled to match( gas piston, extractor and top handguard) is that normal or would it be refurbished and force match or is it unissued/excellent condition?

You probably can't see it from the pictures but the stock is in perfect condition and has non ###x'ed serial number, metal is all very good, bore is brand new barely any carbon residue maybe just a test fire.
I'm glad I didn't wait since I looked today and tradeex is out of ammo now :p

It's cool how one side has nice wood grain and the other has the cool stain marble look the best part is that pretty much what I asked for ( well I asked for one or the other but I got both :D)

Gas tube, piston, extractor, rear sight are always electro penciled because they are too small to stamp or too thin(gas tube).

I will only ever call my rifles non refurbs. I think the term unissued gets thrown around way too much. Either way, there are cetainly a lot of SKSs out there, including yours, that look to have been put away and forgotten about since they left the factory.

I think that the unissued thing gets to be a matter of judgement. I have a 55/56 that I would call unissued due to the fact there is no wear marks on the exterior or in receiver, the inside of the gas block is new milled with no sign of carbon and all moving parts inside trigger have zero wear on bearing surfaces. Again, a judgement call.
