Hi guys,

I'm new to this so pls give me some advise.
I live in vancouver area and there is a custom reload service in maple ridge. Is factory ammo better or custom reload?

Thx

Custom Reloading Services is a licenced ammunition manufacturer. In the eyes of the government they are making "factory" ammo.

Accuracy is up the the guy holding the firearm. If you want precision, I would recommend working up your own loads. I doubt CRS will make up small batches with different load out for you, but I could be wrong... I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I think the company name is causing you a little confusion! I will say I have never dealt with them so I'm just guessing here but I suspect the ammo they supply will be to accepted industry standards/practices/loads etc and is sold as "new" remanufactured ammo = essentially new & to factory specs.
This is not to be confused with truly custom loaded ammo, usually hand loaded and tailored to specific rifles known preferences. Rifles are like people and have their own personalities as to what ammo they like. What weight projectile, how many fps etc. By hand loading you can match the right bullet weight/shape with the right powder charge and ideal overall length to your rifle. Hand loaded, tailored ammo is almost invariably much more accurate than generic factory ammo(usually cheaper too BTW!). It does however require some investigative research and experimentation to determine what works best for your rifle. That's where the fun begins! (apart from shooting the ammo of course!)

"custom reloading service" in maple ridge basically sells reloaded handgun ammo, re-manufactured to normal specs. good value for high volume shooters (ipsc, etc.) They also sell reloading equipment and supplies, but i don't know if they actually make 'custom' reloads for other than popular handgun calibres.

i would expect that the accuracy of the ammo they sell would match factory stuff, and would not be any better (or worse). you don't hear about a lot of folks reloading finely tuned handgun ammo for enhanced accuracy, most reloading that varies from factory specs in handgun is done to reduce recoil for high volume shooters.

Having some one else load your ammo for you would be like hiring someone to service your wife.

I wouldn't go so far as that, however to fine tune your load to your rifle it is better to do it yourself...

Having said this I have purchased 9mm off the guy in Maple Ridge and was happy with the ammo and service..

I'm using it (bought their sale special - 5000 rounds for $1000 tax in) and enjoying every shot. Love the price! Only difference between this load and my buddy's handloaded stuff is this load is a little hotter so there is a bit more muzzle flip to control compared to a homemade IPSC-tailored lighter load to match whatever springs you have in your gun. Later this year I'll handload myself, but I have 4850 rounds left before doing that. :)

I'm too lazy to hand load and wanna find some tailored lighter load.
