Slick Glocks.. My Solution

I like to charge my pistol using the front of the slide... On a Glock, not so easy.

this was my .47 cent solution....

Take some grip tape and cut it out all purdy..

feels really good, and doesn't look horrible
 
I have some on the rear of the slide, on top of the slide infront of the rear sight, forward position on the frame where my thumb rests, a strip under the trigger guard as well as some on the sides of the grip panels. Works good and the holster doesn't seem to effect it much
 
I do IPSC and i did that on my 17 and use a blade tech holsters, it work, its roughs the firts couple of times but after awhile its ok, the problem was after my first stage, i was told i could get bumped in open because of this, so i remove them and went back to the sling shot method
 
You can see the wear marks from the holster, but its whatever. I can replace it, this was before i did the grip taping but i didn't put much there.

Hmm, if you are shooting pro I guess a little tape wouldn't be worth getting bumped to open class.

Also because the tape is quite abrasive I couldn't see it being too good for the blade tech.. Not to mention if you had a fabric holster it would almost act like velcro!

"Unfair advantage" it seem, it depends on the RO, but even duracoat seems to be a no-no for production

Part of the reason I'm not as enthused about IPSC as I once was. A gun that recoils like a .22 due to its heavy weight with a 2 pound single action (albeit over 5 lb DA) trigger pull is Production legal but a Glock is not if you have a strip of tape under the trigger guard or if you have coloured the engravings with Crayon. Doesn't seem fair to me.
