My completed Swiss Arms project (sorry the photos suck, they don't do it justice):

  • Swiss Arms Classic Green
  • NEA lower receiver
  • A2 stock & collapsible stock (can swap between the two in a few minutes)
  • Trijicon ACOG TA31F RCO
  • NEA rail (upper receiver)
  • Surefire light
  • Knights Armament forward grip
  • Forward rail bought from Shooting Edge (not sure of brand)

She shoots like gangbusters!

Just like I said in the first thread, not my cup of tea to be painting a rifle, but I think it looks amazing for a "spray can in the garage job". Well done, and if your happy that's what matter's, it belongs to you. Did we really need a second thread though? Why not just update the other one?

Simple. It has been 100% repainted. I also added a rail, a forward grip and a flashlight.

Plus, the project is now done. I thought I'd share it with you characters.

Plus the great thing about a "spray can in the garage job" is that when I go after coyotes, I'll paint it winter camo. In the spring I'll paint it green and brown again. If the paint job gets a ding, I won't sweat it. I believe dings gives rifles character. Cool eh?

Ya like we haven't heard that before:rolleyes::p:p:stirthepot2: Sorry, I had too, you walked right into it

Here is the final product:

Really, not trying to be critical, just having a bit of fun;););):p

I couldn't agree more, you should see some of my rifles

Question though? Do you plan to strip it and blast it before each new paint job? Just wondering?

LOL! Hey wait thats the old paint! You have to admit the new paint is better.

Shhhh.........

Two things:

(1) If I die, mrs smak_daddy thinks this entire rig is worth under $1,000 (including scope).

(2) Yeah... your probably right. It's not done :)

krylon comes right off with lacquer thinner so no harm done at all, really. Looks good but has reliability been affected with the NEA lower and various AR mags? Or does it still chug along like a swiss watch? or swiss army knife? or swiss arms? or anything made in Switzerland?

You are correct about how easy it is to remove paint.

Not a jam or malfunction of any kind since the day I bought her.
