Does Honda speak up every time a ricer crashes and kills someone?
Does Wiesers come out with a responce everytime someone drives drunk?
Maybe they do? I dont know; but they shure as hell shouldnt have to.
Times like this people need to stop making decisions based on emotion. We need to start a new chapter with a different diologue.

I bought my first AR today, a bushmaster.

Does Toyota make a statement every time one of it's cars has been involved in a dangerous driving case?

You've posted snarky remarks about ar-15s in several other threads as well,..do you think having a plastic stock on your gun makes you an evil person? Does owning a Toyota make you a dangerous driver?
 
Why? It has nothing to do with Bushmaster. Does Budweiser have to release a statement when someone dies of alcohol related issues?
 
How about the maker of the anti-depressants?

Aside from more prudent storage of firearms (for which I was repeatedly mocked for suggesting in other CGN threads), the only thing that could have prevented this result is more effective mental health treatment methods.

There are no facts saying that he was taking antidepressants. You are assuming something that you heard in the media.
 
bushmaster is owned by remington. so we will see what remington does with their bushmaster rifle division. my guess...sell it or close it, not worth all the legal issue's and court cases that will be coming. Colt will be the first to stop sales!!!
 
I bet there will be a big backlash of anti Hi Cap mags and semi auto rifle. With the media really pushing the Bushmaster and getting there facts wrong, I think Remington will do something. I bet the NRA will fight tooth and nail but wait for the dust to settle first.
Remember NRA members also have children and NO one wants things like this to happen.
I also guess the more police presence will be in schools in the near future.
I went to a highschool with a police officer working in it. However the school did have over 2400 kids in it. None of my lower grade schools had an officer. Maybe it's time for a change, atleast in the US!
 
Back when I was in high school we also had 2 cops (partners) work in our district. More for gang squad purposes but they would stop by the schools in their district from time to time - talk to students, teachers, a show of presence, etc. At the very least we would see them once a month, sometimes more.

People would think twice of starting a fight on school grounds. We'd meet in the back alley behind 7-11 instead, haha.
