Apparently there are no new Rugar SR22's anywhere on the planet to be had...

Now that's funny but sadly true, I've seen many rifles (and other items) for sale in the EE for more than they are new, could never understand that one....it's a shame some people try to make money off of others ignorance on a particular item
 
I was looking for an SR22 back in June and couldn't find one anywhere. Ended up buying a Remmington 597VTR. Everywhere I looked said the SR22's were backordered until November. It's just about January and there is still no hope of anywhere having them in stock any time soon. I wouldn't hold your breath. Like already mentioned, go with with a regular 10/22 and buy a aftermarket stock.
 
Actually, I would hold your breath. Most people haven't done the leg work I have. 2 Canadian distributors are planning to start shipping their orders the first or second week of January. That includes SR22's and the rest of rugers product.
 
I was told by a couple of dealers who quoted what Ruger told them: Ruger is way behind on supply as they cannot keep up with the demand, and products should start to show up in Canada in Q1/Q2 2013.
