Can't the Canadian military ammo producers produce bulk ammo for us at affordable rates. I find that difficult to believe. Their production lines are not running 24/7 are they?
I remember a long time ago when I was buying computer disks from bulk barrels at rediculously low prices. Can't we have the same? Bulk ammo loose in crates or barrels. I can't see the cost being higher than the Chinese or am I wrong?
Edit I think most of us are willing to forgo nice packaging. Just a big container with loose ammo is all that I need
I say 'batteries'.
not supposed to ship batteries by mail either.
They buy their ammo from Prvi these days; cheaper than making it in Chile.Hey CanAm, what about FAMAE ammo? They make both 5.56 and 7.62x51 and looks like they are willing to deal with us since Tactical Imports is importing their firearms.
The only major producer of ammo for the Military is IVI, which has not sold to civilians in decades. Same deal as with colt Canada, they refuse, or cannot due to agreements, deal with civilian sales. Quite unfortunate as while it won't be a cash cow, it would be a noticeable amount of profit.
I've heard rumblings about rimfire shortages too. I've been told that there are only so many companies that manufacture rimfire ammo and they are unable to keep up with the demand as of late.
Yeah so many centerfire shooters are moving to rimfire because of economics...
I would dont be concerned about a .22 shortage as it is widely available, the bigger retaillers carry it and they have agreements with the manufacturers to maintain supplies. if anything it may slightly go up in price
either that or going to black powder muzzle loaders![]()
That is one type of rifle I should buy ... a muzzle loader...

you're missing out , you should get one! The old style flint lock and percussion caps are the funnest I think. Good old smooth bore muzzle loader. When ammo gets too expensif , just stick what ever you can find down the muzzle
I have an eye on a muzzle loader that a sponsor is advertising, I just have to wait for the right moment to buy it as to avoid an international incident with the ministry of the interior the wife....lol
yes you could take up bullet casting. I'd love to get into casting and reloading when I find more time. And it seems we both have the same problem problem. I usually bring my parcels in from the truck when she has girls nights. She doesn't notice the boxes coming in haha.

Forget it, you cannot sneak anything by your wife, they just know the minute you walk in the door....
However may I suggest a form of barter as I have used for years....
Everytime I add to my personal collection she goes out and buys, flowers, plants, decorations, etc, etc for the various gardens, needless to say we now have many gardens, covering many acres, a pond, several rock gardens........ but she does enjoy the gardens, I enjoy my toys....
