gsg1911 vs sig 1911 22

Does this mean that I could use sig parts to convert a gsg 1911 to a 9mm?

On further digging, the caliber change kits are only available for the 220, 226 and 229 sigs...

Wolverine Supplies GSG Tactical 1911 .22 LR

I just ordered the Tactical GSG 1911 .22 LR with 3 extra mags from Wolverine. Gun was $399, extra mags were $25.95 each.

Shipping weight: 2.19 lbs.
• Same spec and weight as a .45 1911
• Compatible with other 1911 parts 70-80%
• Beaver tail and grip safety
• Black plastic grips
• Picatinny rail
• Faux suppressor
• Threaded barrel
Caliber/Gauge: 22LR
Color/Finish: Matte Black
Magazine Capacity: 10
Model: 1911
Caliber: 22LR
Capacity: 10+1
Stock: Black Plastic Grips
Sights: Fixed Sights
Barrel: 5" without Faux Suppressor

I literally ordered a few days ago... Wolverine was sold old of the standard version that costs $20 less with walnut grips. No, I won't add anything tactical to the gun... it is simply a cheap 1911 plinker for me. :)

YAIOC....enjoy the new HG.
Just few tips after giving it the usual "new" gun cleaning....
1) Do not over-tighten the frame/barrel screw. Snug it down with a drop of blue loctite.
2) Break-in the GSG with high velocity ammo. CCI mini mags work well if you can find them.
3) Remove the mag disconnect. Quick and easy to do and makes take-down simplier.
4) Buy lots of ammo

I have been considering buying one of these. What is the mag disconnect that you recommend removing?

What about the Colt version ? a .22Lr little sister to my Gold Cup NM would be great, although they are a bit on the pricy side (530-580$)

Thanks for the link. The info clearly shows how to disable the mag safety but why are people disabling that safety? Does it interfere with operation of the gun? I'll hit Google and see if I can find a 'why'.

For me it's so that I don't need a mag to lower the hammer and I personally just consider it an overall nuisance and unnecessary "safety" feature. I ended up changing the mainspring housing but would have still removed it anyway even if I hadn't.

Here's my GSG, by the way. Just a few small mods so far with the short trigger and flat mainspring housing and of course the OD green paint job on the frame which added about 10 tactical points lol. Want new sights and a new thumb safety but I'll do those when I get around to them.
