My ATT just came today and its good province wide,so even though Im a member of MVRRC Id like to know where the other pistol ranges are. Anyone got a link?

Here's my map of all the ranges in the Atlantic Provinces (at least all the ones I can identify on an online map). Not all of these ranges allow handguns.

The Nova Scotia ranges/clubs that do and are accessible to the average shooter are AMA, MVRRC, AVSSC, OMA, Valhalla and NSRA. The military ranges typically allow handguns but as a civilian shooter you'd need to belong to an organization that has access to the range - no individual civilian shooters.

Some of the DNR ranges allow restricted firearms but you have to contact the depot for the one you want to visit to see if they do.

Enjoy.

ah , Marcel I think there are a few more than that ...

True.

The Metro Rifle and Pistol Club in Sydney no longer has its own range but uses the DNR Range in Upper Lietches Creek. I forgot the St. Mary's Shooters Association in Sherbrooke but I think they use a DNR range as well. I'm not sure if the NS Highlanders Military Rifle Association supports handgun shooting at Debert any more. The Pictou Country Military Rifle Association has an indoor range in New Glasgow. The rebuilt Capt Kidd Rod and Gun club does .22 handgun, perhaps larger centre fire as well. And I also forgot Lunenburg. There are other gun clubs in the province too that I'm not sure about like the Bridgewater Handgun Club (I don't know if they're still operating), the Scotia Sportsman and the Highland Gun Club (I don't know if they do handgun), and the North Mountain Gun Club (I don't know if they do handgun).

Considering I wrote a book on this I should have more details but is difficult to keep in touch with all the clubs and some of them don't want to be publicized in any way.

Anyone with further details are welcome to post up the info.

I don't know where you are or what you can get to, but Hollow Log Rifle and Pistol Association in Liverpool offers full facilities.

Should have said,Im in Shubenacadie,so central. Im going to call the DNR Monday and ask if the Georgefield public range lets you use pistols,as I like that spot. I have a feeling it does not. Something about the name,"Public RIFLE Range"

Is there any other province besides Nova Scotia, that has public ranges built for the public and are not for the military?
