Which short 10-22 barrel?

I use both Dlask and Tactical Solutions. The weight of the Dlask is like a brick taped to the front end compared to the Tac Sol !! Both accurate and well made.

I just spun up my own thread protector on the lathe for the Dlask.

That is the main reason I don't want threads. I want it as close to 26" as possible with no removable parts to negate the length.

The threaded part counts towards overall length, just not what you thread on to it. So if a 12.5" non-threaded barrel would work in your build a 12.5" threaded would work also. Any comp or whatever would not count unless permanently attached.

Hey hoytcanon. As seems to be the case for all your builds, this one looks really nice. I was thinking of doing something quite similar but with a different stock and different optics.

So, now for the questions.

1.) What parts went into this build and where did you get them?
2.) How much of the original 10/22 did you keep?
3.) Did you use any of the original Ruger parts?
4.) Is that the original Ruger receiver or is that also custom?
5.) What are the measurements of this setup?

The sporter chamber is fine with Blazer and with a little wear it will take mini mag HP's and solids too... ours are up and running now with our preferred MMHP's.

Dlask DAR22 Sterling receiver, Dlask custom 10.5' stainless bull barrel (+2" Ross Schuler brake; 12" total OAL length), Volquartsen TG2000 (trigger group), Boyd's Barracuda stock, RT bolt that was tuned by RFC's "Que," Hawke Varmint SF 4-16X44mm scope with Dura Sight Z2 QD rings.

NONE... I didn't start with a 10/22 on these builds.

3.) Did you use any of the original Ruger parts?

Nope.

1.) What is the overall length from the back end of the receiver to the end of the muzzle break?
2.) My understanding is that the law requires OAL of at least 26" in the smallest functional configuration (ie, if applicable, with stock folded and non-permanent muzzle accessories removed). This said, is the muzzle break you used considered permanent enough to be counted toward the legal OAL?
3.) What was the cost breakdown for this build (should you be willing to divulge this... if not, no worries)?

I would have to pull the gun out to measure, but the requested measurement is valueless with regard to any law.

The OAL includes any stock in its shortest configuration... since this has a solid, one piece stock and the length of the stock is 27", the barrel measurement is redundant. The muzzle brake is not permanent and the 29" OAL that I quoted does not include the muzzle brake.

3.) What was the cost breakdown for this build (should you be willing to divulge this... if not, no worries)?

I would rather not put the cost in black and white... I am trying to avoid reality.

Once more, many thanks for your replies. I should have explained my reasoning a bit better with respect to my most recent set of questions. In particular, when I asked for the length from the back end of the receiver to the end of the barrel, I was trying to get a bit of scale so that I can ascertain whether the OAL including the stocks that I have in mind would exceed the required minimum 26" were I to drop in the receiver/barrel combo you have used. Sorry for that. I can see where you might have been a bit confused by that.

Think I'll go with Dlask. Tried emailing them but I suspect they're off over the Christmas/New Year/Holiday season.

Sounds like a sporter chamber will be best for my ammo and shooting style.
