couple of XCR questions

Hey all,
I just got myself a Robinson Arms XCR-L in Tan... happy b-day to me!
Couple quick questions:
- Is mine a first gen. model or newer model? ( mine is Tan, has the winter triggerguard, fixed stock with QD swivel hole and Midwest flipup sights)
-To change to the fast stock from the fixed stock, is there a lot of difficulty involved? Can someone provide a quick "run through" for me.. im going to be ordering the fast stock from wolverine...

Both new and older ones have XCR engravings on the side. Newer ones are in italics and say XCRL. And older ones were only available in black. Unless someone refinished your gun. newer guns also come with the fast stock and have a solid winter trigger guard. Couple other more significant differences in the guts of the gun, but the ones listed here are the cosmetic ones you asked for.

Fast stock/fixed stock is only held together by one bolt torqued to a specific poundage. I can check my book after xmas if you want.

Hey Tom,

No difficulty at all, just press the rear takedown latch and fold the upper up to gain access to the screw holding the stock on to the lower. You can swap out the stock with simple removal of the screw. It's rather easy.

The FAST is pretty user adjustable for height and length.

First off congrats on joining the xcr family and happy b-day. Sound like you have a second gen, probably doesn't have the ambi mag release. Great gun it was my first xcr. Like mention the stock swap is as simple as using an Allen key. Enjoy.

Thanks... you are right, no ambi mag release... ill compensate for that with this kick ass Aimpoint M4 I just bought! 1 AA battery =8 years of constant "on" battery life??!! are you kidding me! Way to set the bar, Aimpoint!

The ones I played with did, but they required the allen screw included with the XCR to fit. The typical screw for the AR grip didn't fit my XCR.

One spring is going to pop out, the tension spring for the safety selector. It just sits in the grip and provides the tension required for the safety. If you put on a grip and have a floppy safety selector you've forgotten to put in that spring ;).

you probably buy this rifle to the CRAFM because i almost bought this rifle couple week ago ,but dominic found a black one in the safe in 7,62 and swap the caliber to a 223.
they probably date from end of 2011 because they put the new stock in february 2012

I bought the last tan xcr from CRAFM a few days ago, nice rifle, decent price too.
