sks supply

How many come in a crate, and what would it cost to get one? I've been thinking for a while now out would be smart to buy a bunch while they're still cheap.

Normally 10 to a crate for$1500 to $1600.

But one of the site sponsors (Frontier?) was offering "crates" of 10, 5, or 3.

How do I order one from Weimajack? I'd like a new unused one.

Do you have access to the equipment exchange? If not you need to apply for it.

Once granted look for his thread regarding unissued SKS under exchange of military surplus.

He has a number assigned to each rifle. Send him a private message indicating which one you want to buy, and go from there.

He has some very nice refurbs as well if you're looking for a shooter as opposed to a collectors piece.

Or just go to Westrifle website and order there, every SKS they sell has 6 pics of it so you can actually see what you're getting

Last day of the Lever SKS sale tomorrow. $150. At that price and with what's being said about supply, I picked up a few more because I can easily run down and grab them at $168, tax in.

This just seems stupid.

Why would Russia destroy all these guns when they can make good money selling them?

It may cost more to store them in a warehouse then they are worth.

If they sell retail for 200 bucks, and that's shipped across the world, what could the profit possible be?

My guess would be that army team responsible for destroing of old guns take for example 100 crates , destroy one of them to show proof of destroying if required and sell 99 crates at $1000 a crate. So they make free money, buyer pays shipping and sells carbines for $200 a piece. And everybody is happy. Rough approximation of course :)

Yep. That sounds like Russia alright.

You are wrong. If it would be that way I would bring containers of it every month. It is highly controlled industry by Putin himself. May be in 1990th yes, now no way

Cheers

I stand corrected then. I had left Russia before Putin came to the power, so my guesses are based exactly on 80s-90s : )

It's unlikely that the Chinese SKS's will go away anytime soon. The Chinese produced more of these bad boys than any other nation.

They also don't give a single crap about UN small arms treaties. One of the few good things about China is that they won't destroy their surplus SKS's (of which, as you said, they have more than they know what to do with) if they can make a buck selling them to Canadians instead. What's the UN going to do, sanction them? Pfft, hah.

Try to ship Chinese products and have it seized somewhere in New York Or Seattle. Have it destroyed, cry about loosing time and money and then say what are they going to do. UN can do a lot trust me.
