Is there any problem with feeding hollow-points through them? Im thinking I might need another 22, and these levers sure are nice. Is the grade 2 with checkering worth the extra coin?

I had a couple, kept the micro for my daughter. The trigger was the only thing I could complain about, but it still wasn't too bad. I never had an issue with ammo with either of them, to be honest they were probably one of the best feeding rifles I've ever used. Decently accurate, and I liked the speed of the short stroke.
I recently picked up a grade 1 nickel receiver and its one nice rifle. Wood to metal fit and finish is second to none. So far its seen a diet of Win555's (400rnds) and had zero failures to feed or fire. While the trigger may be a little "heavy" it is crisp and the short-throw lever is so fast/smooth to operate. Is the extra cost of the grade 2 worth it?...depends if you like the scroll/grip work.
I don't believe the underside of the receiver is plastic but an alloy coated with polymer finish. The only plastic that I have found is on the butt stock.
IMO....these are nicely made levers and great shooters. My BL-22 is not my first lever but is my favourite.
I also considered the Uberti Silverboy(when I was shopping) and planned on driving up to Epps to fondle one. Nice looking rifle (pics) and I'm sure Uberti makes a good product but I wanted something with a proven track record.
As I mentioned, the trigger on the BL-22 may be a bit heavy (due to the design of the "one-piece" lever/trigger action) but it's very crisp and the short-stroking lever is fast!
I've had a Bl-22 for over 25yrs. without a problem with any ammo,this thing has been a work horse in all kinds of weather,and when someone else starts shooting it,it's almost impossible to get it back from them they're having that much fun with it.....
I bought myself a new BL-22 Grade 2 for an early christmas gift.
Fit and finish is good, action is smooth, feeds and fires fine.
As mentioned by another, the plate in front of the lever isn't plastic, it's metal. Only plastic is the buttstock pad.
I talked to a gunsmith at the store (I know the owners well) and he said the only issues they have seen is if crud gets onto the ejector.
Mine had a large Browning sticker along the front foregrip that was a real pain to get off, I ended up wiping it with WD40 to remove the adhesive that stayed behind, then washed that area with a microfibre towel to remove any WD40.

A BL-22, I would suggest to keep yourself well away from it...
I bought one 30 or so years ago, It got stolen a couple years afterward when I left it at the cabin...
A BL-22, is the worst .22 to buy if it gets stolen from you...
30 years down the road, you will still fondly miss it...
I still have it's original cardbox but the numbers printed on it are apparently not
my BL-22's serial number... Hard to look for it without a serial number...
Yes, as soon as I get my acquisition licence, I will again buy a brand new one !
And yours is beautiful !

Love my BL22, it eats any kind of ammo and never complains. Accuracy out of the box is above average and the short throw lever is sweet. Trigger more crisp than sensitive which is fine with this kind of rifle. Price is high for a .22 lever but the product is very well made and a superb combination of looks and functionality.
Ive had a Browning 22 lever for 33 years. I use at least one case of 5000 rounds every year just for gophers, for almost all of the 33 years. I've never had a jam ( did you hear that 10/22 owners?) not one jam in 33 years. I had a broken firing pin replaced 2 or 3 years ago for about 40 bucks. Its a grade 2, its in immaculate condition. This thing has had between one and two hundred thousand rounds through it and it shoots as good today, as the day I bought it. It doesn't care what ammo you shoot or what order you load it in.
I've never had a more used but reliable rifle.

Time to count the pennies again 
I bought it when I turned 16 with my brand new FAC. I sh*t you not, I bought between one and three cases of 5000 almost every year since. family had an old farm back then , and we did a crap load of shooting in the back quarter, every chance we got, rain or shine.
