Am I being optimistic by searching for any Savage (With Accutrigger) or Tikka hunting rifle for $500? I can't find any.
If I find any savage, it is normally like the 111 FCXP3 or something without the accutrigger. I'm wondering now if I should just get a Savage without accu-trigger and put on an aftermarket.

If you find a new Tikka for $500,please let us know.

Ok so yea the T3 is pretty optimistic, but I was told Savages are cheaper than T3s. So far I find them within such a similar price range that I would rather fork over an extra $50 to get a T3 than a Savage.
Also Used is fine for me but people want new prices it seems. Which is understandable for what the gun can do but after shipping the price is pretty close to new.

You'll be hard pressed to find a tikka below $695-$700.I've heard of places putting them on sale for $600 but i've never been luck enough to find one.

Shillen lists the 6.5x55 in their savage prefit chamberings............just pick your contour, barrel composite, twist and finished length, send your specs to Mystic to order..........call me when its time to screw it on............

Thank you kindly. :)

Yeah, that would have been a fantastic deal. I bought a Model 11 - no accutrigger - for $480 out the door from my local shop about a week ago. If the WSS price was correct it would have been about $450 shipped for the accutrigger model. BTW, even without the accu-trigger, my .243 shot sub-MOA at 100m and a 2.6 inch group at 200m in swirling wind and with frozen fingers when I tried it out on Wednesday. I am sure I can tighen that up in calmer, more comfortable conditions.

Cabelas had a TC Venture 22-250 package on for $469 on Boxing Day and they do have the Savage 25 Walking Varminter on for $499, it comes with the Accu-trigger but in smaller cals.

I just bought a Savage 11 Hog Hunter in .308 with Accutrigger at Epps for 506.00$ shipping inc. They still had one in stock when i bought mine (December 20th)
