I got this short book on the history of the Lee Enfield for Christmas. I thought it was quite good. The main point I took from this book was the fact that when it comes to the pros and cons of any rifle, there are as many opinions as there are people. A rifle in one persons hand may be the be all to end all and the next person will consider it a POS. Politics and economics will play a role in the acceptance and development of any issue firearm.
I saw the same thing when I was an armourer in the RCEME. Some very questionable stuff came acroos my plate but politics had its say.
The same goes for this book. Many will hate it as it shows some of the shortcomings of the Enfield and that is sacralidge.
I have read much about the Enfields and this is just one more that I enjoyed.
Just my opinion.
