I got a buddy who wants an NEA AR-15, but we can't seem to find anywhere with them in stock. Anyone have ideas on a place that might have them in, or will soon?

the ammo source seems to sell them like crazy, but if they arent on pre-sale or in stock try target sports. they dont list them on their site but give them a call.

The NEA 14.5's are back ordered at SFRC. They stopped the presale till the back orders get filled. I've had one on order for quite a while.

i was on the 14.5" list but they got the 12.5's in a couple weeks ago so i switched to that.
i think there was 10.5" in at the same time.

i really wsh they made a 16" barrel, but i may be buying the 18"

i got tired of waiting and got one on the EE. They are hard to find now and from what i hear they ALL are being made with a mid length gas system as of last month. I got a 14.5 with carbine length

how do you measure to know which you have? and what it the benefit of...well whichever one?

OP - if you are willing to go 16" the ammo source has good deals on Windham.

Like any start up they had teething problems, they learnt the hard way in terms of outsourcing parts and maintaining quality control. In time they've developed an excellent product at a great price point. Personally I'd like to see them do a few things differently. But they seem to not be able to keep up with demand as is. What I want is stripped uppers available in 14.5" & 16" mid-length and carbine with option for standard FSB. Their rail system is great, but not what I'm looking for in every gun. AR's are like Legos to me try and build the next one differently or off something I've seen on TV.

+1 on Target Sports. Their website inventory is rarely accurate in my experience so if your buddy calls them he might be surprised to find one sitting on the shelf.

I was offered the 12.5", but declined to wait it out for the 14.5". I'm not in a huge rush to get the rifle. I did get lucky a couple days ago and ordered one of the 6 ARC treated NEA BCG's that SFRC had for sale on thier website.

Given all the crap NEA has put out, why would you want one?.

800 flawless rounds through mine...only had it a week or 2. a few other guys tried mine out and were impressed.

i think they all come with that bcg now.

I really like my 12.5, if he's not completely set on a 14.5.

Great but there are plenty that have got crap with non working parts broken bolt lugs, out of spec BCG's, FA guns non secured parts. Just last week there were recievers released that were way way out of spec. Don't waste your money and risk injury when one of these POS kaboom and you eat the bolt.

You really just can't help yourself can you? Let it go man, relax. It's not your job to put down NEA every time a thread mentions them. It's not your job to save all of us with NEAs from kabooms. Why don't you head on over to the pistols and revolvers forum and troll the glock threads? At least they have had kabooms so you might not be viewed as being quiet so unbalanced.

Well mg4201 is one of the few that voices his opinion. There are alot of people that feel the same way about NEA. I feel if you buy NEA complete firearms or parts you might as well throw a dart at a dart board to see what type of product you get.

I agree that it is important to voice one's opinion and I'm not saying you or anyone else shouldn't. The thing is the OP asked where his friend might find one, not "what do you think of the quality".

You think buying NEA is like throwing a dart, thats fine and useful when someone asks about NEA's quality or if they should buy one....when someone asks about where to buy one, or how much they cost, or what they are chambered in, or whether the buffer tube is commercial or mil spec, etc. it gets a little weird when the cries of kabooms, eating bolts, and laundry list of NEA issues is regurgitated for the umpteenth time.

Maybe its just me but just because someone has an opinion doesn't mean they are required to share it every chance they get...you don't see the fanboys gushing and fawning about NEA when someone asks where to find one; that would be equally annoying.

Target Sports and The Shooting Edge get regular shipments as far as I know. You may be able to get one right off the shelf.
