tavor a bad buy if becomes restricted?

I would like a tavor to shoot around at my property.
Only downside so far seems to be the price...hello line of credit.

Anyway, It seems to be getting a lot of negative attention as of late and I'm worried that if it becomes prohibited I'm up the creek.
The whole point is I want to use it on my property.
If it becomes restricted I can't right? I would use it much less, if ever if it's restricted.

What else should I consider here? I don't really want to waste 3600.

well if it goes prohib theres no legal way to keep it they closed the grandfathering door

if it went restricted it would be range only

in a week or so a puppy will get hit by a train and the media will switch to the dangers of trains............
 
It is highly unlikely that it will have a status change under the current government. If the NDP or LIBs get in it's not just going to be the Tavor they go after but every semi-auto carbine, they'll have a bit of opposition to that move I hope ;).

Besides the barn door is open and the horses have escaped, there's no data as to you owning/ have owned / sold to Peter in Newfoundland that pretty Tavor. It will be an uphill battle for the gun grabbers next time as they're not going to be able to just send out blanket letters to known owners, cost effectivness alone makes this a very hard battle and I'm sure they have lower hanging fruit they'd pick first.

Live in the moment man, you want a Tavor then get one and enjoy it.
 
First, I am not sure where about do you live, but a lot of city by law prohibit you from firing any gun within the city/town even if it is on your property.
And how can you spend $3600 on a tavor while you can get one for $2700? If that price include optics...you can simply just change out the optics.

And in my opinion, tavor is not worth buying if it is restricted because you can buy 2 decent ar15 with one tavor.
But I do not think they will make it restricted because they can not trace who bought one...so ya.

If you do not want to sink $3000 on the tavor, maybe get a Vz58 in either .223 or 7.62X39. These only go for around $800 to $1000
 
my advice is to buy it now..if it does become restricted down the road you will be able to sell it to someone with a RPAL no problem. enjoy the time you can have with it and give it lots of love

If you lost a Tavor in a boating accident, would you get a SCUBA certified diver to retrieve it? Surely, the current wouldn't move it around too much if it were in a river.

As an aside, if the diver found it, would he be "in possession knowing no authority" on the bottom of the lake?

In all seriousness... if I find myself in a scenario where I actually need a Tavor on my boat - the zombies have overrun the planet, so retrieving it will be the least of my worries...

I have a tactical IDF flotation vest for my Tavor to prevent this tragedy from occurring.
