AR-15 ambi safety... Which one?

I don't think I've ever switched my AR-15 to safe other than at home to see that the lever moved. You pretty much approach the firing line with the gun unloaded and chamber open, and leave the firing line the same way in the competitions I've been in with it. I've never been in anything where I run around with the loaded AR, just shooting prone and standing.

I can see that happening, especially if you are mostly just shooting from the line. However, using your safety should be automatic. If the rifle is loaded and you aren't immediately about to shoot your safety should be on. In every course I've been on safety use was absolutely mandatory.

in Canada I can't think of too many times you need to safety for an AR15.
should be unloaded to be 'safe' and loaded only when at the firing line
