I picked a box of these classics as a part of a package on EE. I cannot find any data on them anywhere. Does anyone have data on this bullet or a safe place to start?

It is a 75gr. JHP but quite a bit longer than the no.1205 Speer 75gr. JHP that I have to compare it to. Its the one on the right.

I am loading for a 243 WIN with IMR 4895, or RL19

Thanks.

It is a 75 grain bullet and will work just fine with recommended loads for any 75 grain bullet. Set it off the lands and work up a load.

Is the bullet on the right one of the older Speer bullets - had a hollow point you could drive a truck into.

The Speer manual lists loads for Re19 from 44 - 48 grains.

The only issue with a long bullet is a longer bearing surface and hence more friction, this means more pressure, so start at the lowest recommended load

Thanks for the info guys-

I agree with your opinions, it sure is nice to have a little reassurance. I am green if you have not guessed!

Horseman-

The bullet on the LEFT is the no.1205 Speer w/ the hollow point you could likely back a truck into:) The one on the right is the old WW in question. I'll take your suggestion and see what happens

Cheers-
