Do Magupul Ranger floorplates fit LAR-15 mags?

They are an awesome addition to LAR mags. Make sure you specify the ones for USGI mags when you order since the ones made for Pmags will not fit.

i've read that you saccrafice one round for the addition of the ranger plate (mags will hold 9 rounds) I personaly would just get couplers and couple 2 mags together, i'm not a fan of the short mag.

Correct. The solution is to file down the follower posts by 2-3mm so that you end up with 10.5 rounds and can load on a closed bolt (actual amount depends on the type of follower, which has varied with production).

Newbie question. Does the Magpul pmag fit in the LAR-15 pistol. The reason I ask is, if it does fit could it not be argued that the pmag is an aftermarket LAR-15 pistol mag. As such could It not be purchased pinned to 10.
As I read the law the weapon that the mag is put in is not where round limit is decided but the wepon that the mag is designed to fit. There for a pmag pinned to 10 would be technical legal to use in my ar-15.

You answered your own question. The PMag is designed by Magpul for the AR15 platform. In Canada, all semi-auto centerfire rifles are limited to 5 rounds magazine capacity.

Forward compatible pistol > rifle means 10 rounds is OK, as that's the number to which handguns are limited.

Backward compatible rifle > pistol means exactly jack :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:.

Yes, no - and don't pin your PMAGs to 10 rounds.
