S&W 500 Firing pin

for no particular reason (i had some primers pop and cut the pin ), are they the same as any other model?

i smoothed it out as much as i could and will use rifle primers from now on... they were not hot loads/max

I though you were supposed to use large rifle primers anyway. I have starline brass and that's what they say to use.

Some of the earlier production runs of brass by most manufacturers was made to accept large pistol primers. With some of the hotter loads using powders like H110, the odd firing would show 'sizeable' quantities of unburnt powder. Going to large rifle primers cured that problem. What I do have left of those cases made to accept large pistol primers I keep aside for lighter cast loads where I normally use powders like Unique.
