Picture of the day

Sophia Loren is the best looking woman in the world. I can remember my old Dad commenting on her looks. Now, that alone was a sure sign that she is gorgeous.

I think my dad had a thing for Sophia... ;)

Yup, that bike would handle great with the center of gravity at or around the handle bars. I wonder if he could ride and shoot at the same time...scary.

Just lean back and pin it. Its a tactic that would work for riding either one...

I sense an epic motorcycle race about to happen.

Man, they still haven't dug those old ladies up? The suspense is killing me - they'll either be magnificently preserved or piles of corrosion...

BTW, I think the pic above is of a Hurricane. The Spit's gear retracted outward, and the plane in the pic appears to have more of a Hawker fuselage look about it than Supermarine...

I know - I've been watching this one for quite some time now. but from what I gather there is no oxygen at the level these are buried at - so even if there was water seepage they 'should' be fine. It's amazing what can be restored: http://www.rcaf-arc.forces.gc.ca/v2/nr-sp/index-eng.asp?id=1463

BTW - I'm 90% sure that's a Hurricane as well, definitely a stringer type construction, but I can't tell if there are doors on the outboard of the gears... hmmm.

Almost makes you wonder if this is where the idea for the shipping container came from. We know who is credited with inventing it of course, but what did he do during the war? ;)
