The All New 557 from Ceska Zbrojovka

For my tastes, a Schnabel is pushing the limit - it has to be done right. But the hog's back, 70's lapel grip, the bracelet/sight hood - this thing is just plain ugly - functional or not. Benelli will be jealous.

Oh, and no CRF? Pass.
If it shoot like a Benelli, i am definitly getting one... JP.

Translation:

We have monitored Internet forums and determined that the PF vs CRF battle has swung irreversibly in favor of PF, therefore we have discontinued the fiddly and hard to manufacture and fit true 98 pattern extractor and hope nobody notice.

In addition, one of our larger hammer forges broke. We hope you'll buy this story about new technology developed to make short barrels without sacrificing accuracy. We had a good laugh writing that up during the marketing staff Christmas party.

Lastly, since discovering that North Americans weren't even aware of the single set trigger, we'll save ourselves a few bucks per rifle and discontinue it too. Our chief accountant said its redundant and we hope you'll agree.

At least we're giving you real steel ERA sights rather than those crackerjack box Williams alloy doodads we pawned off on you guys the last few years.

Best regards,

The CZ Marketing Team

Bang on! CZ FAIL!

That Notre Dame style hump-back stock and forearm sling mount where my hand supports the rifle are the big turn-off. No CRF? Well that does it, I will stick to my Rugers! ( And the bonus is....Rugers can be bought left handed)

There seems to be a lot of questions around if it is CRF or not.

"Remington-style Mauser bolt" is being interpreted by many as meaning a push feed bolt.

The marketing literature says it's an improved (short striker) version of the 555 bolt which is similar the CRF 550 bolt except for the safety and a bolt guide in the right side locking lug. It has a short extractor but no spring loaded ejector, same old Mauser blade as the 550.

Remington-style appears to refer to the function of the new two position safety with push button bolt release.

Welcome to Canadian Gun Nuts Mumbles.

ni hui jiang Putonghua ma?

The rifle looks fine to me. I hope they come out with one in 9.3x62 as well. Already have CZ 550 for deer hunting. Wouldn't mind this or the CZ 550 FS in 9.3x62 for Elk, Moose, and Bison hunting.

Xiexie :D Shi! hen gaoxing jiandao ni. Zhege wangzhan hen hao de. renchi nin, wo hen gaoxing.

I studied a little bit of mandarin in University.

Nice meeting you too friend and glad you're liking the site but be careful. As a site rule, I think were only aloud to post in French and/or English. Wouldn't want you to get banned right off the bat.

I love the styling, I noticed comments about shape of hand grip. This is what sales CZ rifles for me I love it. This rifle has typical Central European styling. In Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia and Poland CZ rifles are the entry level hunting guns no self respecting hunter will buy anything less of that. American rifles don't sale even Browning with their Euro x and a bolts does not sale many. I have hunted in Germany, Austria and Poland for 15 years. In the fileld I never saw no American made rifles however you can find them in bigger hunting stores in Germany and Poland. Most people had CZ, lots of Austrian and German guns, some French and with few less wealthy people Russian and Italian rifles

I just took a saw to the forearm of my cz 550 fullstock in 30-06 after my goat hunt in August.
doesnt look quite as pretty but its still got crf with the set trigger and hammer forged barrel.

Win!

Wouldn't even use a Savage Axis as a door stop.

No CRF, so I'll keep my CZ 550 American.

I've emailed CZ about the confusion if the rifle is control feed or not. I can clearly see the claw on the side of the bolt though.... or at least I think thats the contol feed claw.

The price for the rifle may be from $800 - $1000 with taxes not uncluded.

When they release a removable magazine for these ... I wonder if they will make the .308 a AI or M14 styled Box Magazine !!!!

DROOL....
