Is it just me or the scope seems higher then it needs to be. If not, is it because the sights get in the way of lowering the scope? Dumb question but, could the front sight possibly obstruct your view through the scope on a rifle like this?

FYI
Caliber (fixed magazine) 308 WIN/ 7x64/ 8X57 IS/ 270 WIN/ 6.5X55 SE will be available in the first quarter of 2013.
Caliber (detachable magazine) 308 WIN/ 243 WIN/ 22-250 Rem will be available in 2014.

That scope is actually at a perfect height. Thats actually a really nice scope and I wish I knew what it is. The scope on my CZ 550 is a 2-8x35, that one looks like a 3-9x40. You can see the front sight on mine with the scope on x2. Once you hit x3 you can't see it anymore. My brother has some german bavarian style rifle. Not sure what the brand is but its a nice rifle and on his, the scope is 2-7x32 and its mounted so low that it almost bottoms out on the barrel and you can clearly see the rear and front sights at lowest setting. Once you hit x4 they're both gone. Its actually kind of nice because you can set the scope at x2 and use the mechanical sights with a x2 zoomed in advantage.

Nice rifle, now they need to make it in left-hand. ;)
They have left hand version of the LUX and American CZ 550 so in awhile if the rifle is a hit, then they will probably come out with left hand models and even an American version.

Nice overall rifle. 20" is a very useable length for most hunting.

While I like a bit of the European styling with the hogs back comb and schnabel forend, I would certainly pass given that hideaous bell bottom grip. YUK!

Gotta hold it first. It may be ugly but it might work quite nicely. Too bad it's not CRF though.

Stright from the guys at CZ, the gun is Control Feed. If you read the Czech Artical from the CZ website, if you understand Czech, the difference from the 550 to the 557 is the use of the short spring-loaded extractor and plunger-style ejector. It still has Control Feed.

E-mail reply from CZUB.

No matter what the Czechs say, a Sako-style extractor is not CRF.

Anyone know who might carry these if they make their way to Canada? Or possible ETA?

If I were less lazy I guess I could just check to see who main importer of CZ was, but..... ;-)
Why I love the internet - thanks guys.

If it has a plunger ejector, it cannot have controlled round feed, the two cannot operate together. If you look closely at any true CRF action function, you will see why.

Oh man that is a beautiful rifle. Almost too nice to go trudging through the brush with!
I'm interested to see more official specs on it with regard to the bolt assembly and such.

What's wrong with the extended pistol grip on it? I have held my friend's 550 Lux and it is very comfortable.
