I am looking to build a 308 rig off the Rem700 platform. I intend to put it into a better stock and then start rolling some ammo.
Basically I am set to get a Stainless Barrel, so I was looking at buying the Rem700 SPS Stainless in 308.
However since I intend to use it for long ranges up to 400-600, I ideally would like to get a heavy barrel in stainless. I am having a hard time finding an off the shelf Rem700 with both Stainless and Heavy Barrell. Is anyone aware of the models that offer this, as I am rolling through their website and there is just so many different models, and the only one I found that said it was a heavy barrel did not come in 308, only the larger mag cartridges.
Any help is appreciated to get me in the right direction. I am trying to avoid picking up an after market barrel to keep costs down. And need the stainless as I will be in the bush.

And as a follow up to that, is there a supplier who sells actions/barrels only (new) without the stock, or does that not exist up here.
