Want to reload a bunch of lead shot I have, what's the best powder/recipe for 20g 7 1/2 - 9 shot for target and pigeon/ crow shooting.
Have used green dot in past for 12g but can't find recipe for 20g in green dot.

Rem. Yellow Hulls
Wads I need to buy to match load.
Cheddite 209 Primers.

Unfortunately rem yellow hulls is not telling me enough.
If they are STS there is a couple recipies that would work with claybuster wads and your primers
http://www.alliantpowder.com/reload...rs/powderlist.aspx&type=2&powderid=5&gauge=20
But I am guessing they are not sts, if so I cannot get to my main set of manuals right now but went through all the reloaders guides for green dot I had in my bench back to 1980 and all call for rem or cci primers with green dot and very few recipies for the older hulls.
What exact hull is it sts, rxp, premier, What does the base look like compression formed or seperate base wad. Wish I could help more

Green Dot USED to be listed as a potential 20 gauge 7/8 powder when pressure was measured with the lead crusher method. From what I have read two things prompted the removal of those loads from the manuals. First the newer piezeometric measuring devices showed higher peak pressures than originally suspected and secondly skeet shooters using sub gauge tube sets were cracking 20 gauge tubes with Green Dot reloads.

If you are using them in an actual 20 gauge gun you should be ok. As 3Macs1 says, we need to know exactly which Remington hull. Take one, section it with a hack saw and post the picture. We can then suggest a load for you
