After shooting my svt-40 I now want to put a muzzle break on my SKS.

SKS is front heavy enough and given the low recoil of 7.62x39,a muzzle brake is pretty much useless. just my 2 cents...

An SKS simply does not need a muzzle brake. The darn thing is heavy enough.

It will only make your sks loud and more annoying to everyone beside you. Spend your money on more ammo

Before you spend any money on a brake , tape a can of beans to the muzzle. Be just as effective and about the same weight Forget the brake and buy ammo.
But you did say you want it to look cool.your money your gun.......have fun
My only experience with Muzzle brakes on any gun convinced me that threading the barrel is THE ONLY way to go. Anything that you bolt on will eventually head downrange like a poormans RPG

The screw on ones don't work for crap, my buddy had one that blew down range after 10 rounds. C'mon, man, the recoil is like that from a .22......

SKS's barely recoil.

Get a Yugo 59/66, mine really barely recoils.

I put one on my SKS, and tested it both with and without, noticed virtually no difference. It only cost $1o.oo so the cost is not an issue. It looks better, and it doesn't hurt performance. Your call.
