I have used Hornady V-Max 165 grain (red tips) Are they the same?
Sure stops deer in their tracks ...... but they can be messy.

Hornady does not market a 165gr v-max.

ooops... my error ... thought those red tips were all V-Max
Hornady markets at least 6 or 7 different bullet lines that have red tips.
Exact same comment. Wife, doe, 140yds, SKS, same bullet. Same result. You should try some .311 dia 125 gr . Sierra pro hunter . I have had good groups on paper and the wife kill a doe with them bang flop!
Unfortunately, your comment could have influenced someone with even less knowledge to use the V-max on a deer. Members here need to be sure of the info they post or that info can be tragic. Please, be sure of your posts before offering advice.ooops... my error ... thought those red tips were all V-Max
