Did the members of this group bukkake on TVs Tavor? I get the 14g price tag now, good thing Chris Costas wasn't part of the circle orbit would be 20g.

Costa wasn't there, but we did give TV the Abe Lincoln and bowed to his new "beard"

Seriously, look up the Abe Lincoln on Urban Dictionary...

Laugh2

Sorry TVPP, that'll teach you not to know about my 1911's!

Getting *excited* over a Tavor makes sense. Me? Not so much!

I hadn't realized the "stuff daddy bought" comment was directed at me either actually. My father hates the fact that I own guns, and doesn't buy me jack.

My thoughts:

The firearms community is already small enough and needs to stand together to push/pull as a team. Subdividing into elite groups does nothing to help our cause and in fact, a great deal to hurt it. Will stupid questions get asked by newbies? Yep, you bet they will, sometimes numerous stupid questions in sucession. If newbies questions are met with snyde remarks and ridicule, a few with thicker skin will stay and take it but many will not and simply leave the forum. In hind sight, we have all asked stupid questions at some point in our lives and that is part of the lifes learning curve. No one here started off into firearms ownership by knowing it all.

You can choose to gently guide those that are new to the sport, nurture their interest, and add to our numbers or you can push them away with arrogance and an elitist attitude. I see the latter as self defeating if you enjoy your firearms. If newbie questions make your blood boil, just move on to another thread and let someone else form a reply.

Tend to agree.

The discourse on this site is not so advanced that it really needs to be separated from "noob" stuff anyway. Splitting this group in to "noobs" and "something other than noobs" is like splitting welterweight in to "light standard welterweight, 140-143 pounds" and "heavy standard welterweight, 143-147 pounds".

If someone were to make an improvement, I think it would not be starting another group, it would be to request that this one get moderated more actively.

And the thing that would be best about that wouldn't be removing the genuine noob questions which are repetitive but at least sincere attempts to learn...it would removing the dumb snarkiness of the heavy standard welterweighters, many of whom overestimate their level of knowledge.

I would rather have a frank chat with a noob who isn't sure whether he can shoot .223 in a 5.56 than listen to somebody with a bit of forum gossip speculate about the perceived strengths and weaknesses of a gun they rarely (if ever) shoot.

I wasn't talking about you. The dude in question likes to skip .30-06 rounds off the ground 20 feet in front of himself towards an area frequented by hikers. I'd post the YouTube video but it was taken down long ago. To think that guy considers himself superior to anyone is pretty sad.

All the crying about a super duper elite club..........it's like somebody invited the NDP in here.

Looks like there's going to be some serious Hurt Feelings Reports filled out.

Hmmmm i wonder if their should be an elite club for the pistol forum and shotgun forum and the archery forum too
Sure getting sick of those pesky questions that I clearly have no choice or my #### will fall to look at.

This whole thing was completely and entirely overblown.

As a direct result of the misguided actions of a few insecure individuals, the entire community/group aspect is essentially dead. The "barrel of crabs" mentality is prevalent everywhere here. This is CGN, after all - and we abhor change.
