Should I sell my M&P40/9 to get a Beretta?

Several months ago I set out looking for an ambidextrous semi as I am a lefty.
I arrived at the M&P40 range & carry kit. Great gun, shot it a bit and went thru a few boxes. Then I went out and purchased a 9mm barrel and magazine, a lefty holster, a Velcro-belt, and another set of back straps in Dark Earth colour (because I liked them!) I was figuring maybe I'd try out the IPSC thing. I really like the tough finish on the gun and it still looks brand new (I baby my guns).
I do realize that I many eyes the M&P is as good, or better than most other semis out there, including Berettas.

Lately, I've been looking at the Beretta 92fs. I love the lines of the pistol, the heft, and the heritage. Everything I've read says it is a solid pistol......and I want one.

Is it worth trading one platform for the other? (don't say "have both", as I have others to fill the poly gap)

Thanks. -Karl

Ah, ya! You should. For the record, the Beretta is better IMO. The M&P ain't even close to producing the track record of the Beretta 92 and accuracy is phenomenal. I've seen issue's with M&P's in IPSC that turned me off. If I was law enforcement I would reject the M&P and take the Glock.

The m&p is a far better pistol than anything beretta could produce. Stick with the smith. However you seem set on the beretta for aesthetic reasons which you feel are important. If you're looking for mutual mental masturbation over the pizza pistol. You won't get it from me. I say stick witth the smith but its your money.

Love my 92FS. I just ordered the M9 too because one must be as good as the other. It's so easy to shoot. The M&P is nice but I love the Beretta DA/SA trigger.

Ever since Lethal Weapon & Die Hard the Beretta 92FS was the only pistol for me. Good enough for for the U.S. war machine and is made by a company that has been in business since the year 1526... its good enough for me.
I will never buy a plastic gun... METAL & WOOD for me (changed the grips)

I agree with TDC, the M&P would be my choice as well. Better pistol with better ergonomics and one trigger pull to deal with.

Damn, I feel so dirty, agreeing with TDC.;)

I recomend keeping the m&p, But definatly get the 92fs, only get rid of the m&p if you truly dislike it .
I traded off, this gun, for that gun, 10 different times, and i want them all back .
I Will never again sell off or trade another gun, unless it is a real lemon.
their is no Perfect gun .
their like my children ,they all have different features that make them special in there own way.
You cant legaly use it for protection of life anyway. so who cares enjoy them all for their own strengths.
If you sell it, I think youll Regret it .But the beretta 92fs is a marvelous design and one of the best postols i have ever shot and you shoul definity get one .

This again.

If you want a good pistol, then stick with the M&P. If you like the Beretta for looks, then go get it.

I have a M&P40 and a Beretta 92A1.....Both are great pistols but I've found out I don't like manual safeties so I shoot the M&P40 more......Have you considered that??

If you have another striker fired than sell it. Everyone needs a plastic gun that always goes bang. They aren't as fun but they are tools. Other pistols are merely toy's.
