I had one and it shot extremely accurate but had some feeding issues (had to modify all my mags)
I traded it for a cz 858 I added a bit of ammo but basically a straight trade
I paid 150 for it, then traded for the cz then used the cash to buy my target rifle... And that's the story of how I turned 150 bucks into a 1500 dollar target rifle.
I'd say 400-600 depending on condition/accessories if your selling. If your buying don't bother, you can load quicker with strippers
It's interesting you say that, as I have a great looking Russian sks that does not shoot anywhere near as well my Chinese DTry shooting it mine was the most accurate sks I ever owned
noticed no spot for clip on the bolt and it does not lock open read that is one of the differences. its a really nice gun doubt i will get a trade like you did. if i decide not to keep it I would like to do local trade or sale see what i am getting and vice versa.
FWIW I have some Hungarian steel 5/30s do lock the bolt open on my D-Box. Not so with the Chinese 5-rounders. The Hungarian ones I have feature a cut out and follower design that keeps it open. However as soon as I drop the mag the bolt slams shut - and it takes some extra effort to work the release if I dont hold the bolt back. At least I know right away when it's out - helps in 3-gun matches (somewhat). I agree strippers work quicker, having had a couple of those as well.
As for price, ya 350-550 depending entirelty on condition & the number off mags etc.
then you dont have a "D" cos no mags will activate the bolt hold bcos it was removed.
Here are three types, the one on the left is the Hungarian (so I was told) 5/30 that DOES hold the bolt open. Notice the difference in the follower

what you have is a chinese made SKS-D and all "D" have the original bolt hold system removed bcos space is needed for the AK style mag catch.
i have seen other forms of bolt hold like a pin drilled into the top of the carrier (after market).
what you are using to hold back the bolt is not a "bolt hold" , you using the mags follower and mag followers arent design to take that kinda pressure.
the hungarian never made SKS and certainly never made a SKS that accepted an AK mag so their AK mags was never meant to be use like that in a SKS.
besides when you remove the hungarian mag to reload, the bolt slam forward which defeat the purpose of a bolt hold.
note to NCBB : i should have read your post closer , you did say the bolt slam forward when removed .
btw, very nice looking "D".
