Should I sell my M&P40/9 to get a Beretta?

The Beretta is a club compared to the M&P, and to those who quote the supposed superiority of the 92 over the Smith, keep in mind that the Beretta design has been in play since the 50's while the Smith is a wet behind the ears newcomer at less than a decade yet has garnered an enviable reputation for reliability and ergonomics that the Beretta has a tough time touching.

My biggest problem with the Beretta (and I've owned 3 - and SB and 2 F's) is that the safety raps me on the right thumb when I shoot "thumbs forward" as I've been doing for the past 25 years (yeah, even before it became "the thing to do"). The M&P fits everybody in my house, from my 5'3" wife to my 2 6'4" teenage sons. Not so for the Beretta...

Keep the M&P; the Beretta has absolutely nothing to offer over it. You mention that you shoot left-handed. What exactly is the difficulty you have with shooting the M&P?

My .02 to the OP, keep the S&W M&P but if you just have to have the Beretta then get one, too.

And three with TDC, for ipsc/idpa the M&P would be a far better platform, and it will outlast the Beretta.

We have a stainless model 92 sitting in the smith's shop right now, less then 1000 rounds thru it, frame rail on the right hand side snapped clean thru top to bottom.

You were comparing the lowers.

INOX is french for stainless steel.

Don't remember talking about pistol frames. Just said his new stainless (INOX) Beretta will be a keeper!

Sorry to hear that.

I like three things Italian. Women, motorcycles, and Naval Guns. In these they excel. Pistols,...well,...shoot both for a year and get back to us. Did anyone mention to include a Goalie Mask in the Beretta range kit?:p:p:p JK man,..enjoy your pistol, they do look ###y, range report after you get used to it and give us your thoughts on both side by side. Who knows? If I get bored with it then my shiny Beretta just may get sold. Despite my low 'post count' here I can guarantee I've bought and sold more firearms than most of the members here. This isn't a pissing match, though. My original post served its purpose.
I own enough guns to serve almost every niche I require. Therefore I don't mind passing on a fine firearm to another member.
I've actually bought two, and sold two firearms this week.

I have never owned a Model 92 Beretta pistol. Now I do!

Good choice on the 92, IMHO they are way better built, more accurate and more reliable than any MP out there. Alot of guys will complain about the trigger pull and the breaking locking block. 1) the trigger on the 92 is very smooth, yes it has "2" trigger
Pulls but compared to an MP trigger it is night and day. The MP trigger feel like crap. 2) the whole locking block failure is old news. I know of a few 92"s that have a major round count through it with no issues. I have owed both, and sold the MP45 after 1 week. I will be buying a 92 inox and 96 this summer to add to the family.
