Bottom Metal Upgrade

Just bought a T3 bottom metal setup from Atlasworxs directly... $155 AUD with free shipping... not a bad deal! I may be posting a 'how do I inlet my tupperware stock with a dremel tool?' when it arrives. :)

JS - did you use a mill, or just hand tools to do your inletting?

Any place in Canada to get Wyatt bottom metal? I want some too for my Rem 700 that doesn't need inletting (a little fitting is okay).

I really like the looks of the B.A.D. Rem 700 bottom metal. I love the safety lever, blends nicely...

Been looking in to the ATRS one, looks like a pretty good way to go considering $550 gets you the metal, inletting, fitting and a mag!?

So roughly $300 for inletting and fitting. If you're not the kind of guy who can do his own inletting/fitting, then it's not a bad way to go. You might be able to find cheaper solutions that give good results, but ATRS isn't a bad one.

What about chambering in .223 Rem. a lot of mags for .308 but having trouble finding anything in .223 unless you go to 10 rounders. I need 5 rounders for hunting purposes.

I cut down 2 poly 223 ai mags to 5 round. There is enough meat in the wall stock to tap the hole where you see the button head. Very handy and is more compact for hunting. I did find that if you leave them loaded it weakens the spring and won't feed the last round after a while. I just pull it apart and stretch the spring again. Need a 10 rounder for ground hogs etc....

DMS1....nice rig and great idea with the mags!
What stock is that and who inletted the bottom metal?
Can you post more pics?

McMillan hunter with edge fill, proof research carbon fiber barrel in varmint contour at 20", atlas bipod, talley lightweights, now sporting a NF 3.5-15. I did the inletting on a Bridgeport. Just needs a gap or desert paint job like Jordan Smith above (nice!). It was really light with the leupy. Not so much with the nxs. I've had about 5-6 scopes on it in search of the perfect one. Put the NF on for low light coyotes.
