Five nights ago I received a phone call from an old acquaintance who noticed my photo on the Prophet River Firearms website. Of course he quizzed me on Cooper firearms and responses were nothing short of excellent. We continued talking about other firearms where he stated that he has a weatherby for sale. Oh ya, what it is I replied. A Mark V Varmintmaster chambered in the 224 weatherby, never been fired, french walnut, 26 inch #2 contour barrel, etc, etc and the price is $$$$............my heart skipped several beats. I'll be right over...................long story short, here it is. BTW, my son is a proud owner of a 224 weatherby to add to his weatherby collection, a gift from me.. These photo's don't justify the beauty of this thing.

If that is considered a "diamond in the rough", then I'd like to see one of your "polished diamonds"!

That is a nice Weatherby and except for the caliber (mine is 22-250 - German made) a duplicate of mine. Mine was a birthday present
from my Mrs. and I still have part of the original box of shells. Enjoy and by the way what about scope and mounts - I have a Leupold in Bueller?
(anyway the ones without ring screws held in place by the bases) mounts and rings very smooth looking to match the rifle but an sob to install.

Thanks for the offer, however the gun came with Redfield rings and bases that were probably made in the 70's or 80's. The quality is beyond excellent and don't have to put in any time to lap them (rings). The shopping came easy because the seller had brass, dies, shell holder and of course the rings and bases........all unused, including the firearm. This firearm is a most rare find, and to find it unused in mint condition, well...................like finding a diamond in the rough. Thanks Again!

Sorry track but in re-reading my post it did sound like an offer - it was not, just saying what I had on my rifle. I came here to make another correction, Bueller just didn't sound right - it is a 4x12 Leupold in Conetrol Mounts. These guns are not that plentiful and to find one in mint is a good catch. When I got mine the story was only 6 rounds fired and put away - got the rest of the box of ammo in the deal. --- John

Nice snag track, don't look like there's anything rough about it, looks to be fully cut and polished to me...........maybe only the price was for the uncut version, if so good for you and you have a lucky son. If you ever find one in that condition in 340 PM me instantly please.
